Director of Missions and Volunteer Services

A Local Missionary to City of Refuge Dalton

- Tony Morgan

Hello,  my name is Tony Morgan.  As a native of the Whitfield County community I am excited to announce my new role as the Director of Missions and Volunteers at City of Refuge Dalton.  It is a huge blessing to be a part of a ministry that is doing significant work in the Dalton area.  After graduating from Northwest High School in 1993, I obtained a teaching degree at West Georgia and Discipleship Ministries degree from Liberty University.  I spent 25 years in the Paulding/Cobb county area doing ministry at multiple churches and non-profit organizations.  In 2018, God called me back to the Dalton community to serve as youth pastor at Dalton First United Methodist Church.  I quickly got involved in the ministry of City of Refuge and loved their commitment to pulling multiple Christian churches and organizations together to make a unified impact for God in our community.  The more I learned about the vision and mission of City of Refuge Dalton, the more I appreciated their dynamic Kingdom mindset and ministry.

Since its inception in 1995, City of Refuge has consistently worked to meet the basic needs of people in the community with the goal of equipping them to improve their current situations.  Through partnerships with local schools, businesses, churches, and individuals, City of Refuge continues to reach people who need a hand up, help them reclaim their sense of life direction, and set them on a path to repurpose their giftings and abilities. We currently serve over a 100 families and close to 100 senior adults each month through our food distribution and close to 150 students in our after school program and youth ministry.  We have served close to 250,000 meals, served thousands in our clothes closet, and helped 15 families find housing.

As a staff member of City of Refuge, I function as a local missionary, seeking ways to connect people and organizations to the mission of God. This position is funded completely through donations and gifts from individuals and organizations.  I would be honored if you would consider starting a monthly partnership or making a one-time donation to help resource my salary and expenses for the ministry at City of Refuge.
